The palace hs been the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury since the 13th century. Guided tours of Lambeth Palace are incredibly popular and there has been a substantial waiting list for some years . However, the Treasures of Lambeth Palace Library exhibition will be open to the general public in 2010 and will show some remarkable treasures including an original Gutenburg Bible and the 9th century MacDurnan Gospels.
